Mincy Valley Baptist Church of Christ Records (1871-1884)

From the original book owned by Vineta Halsey, Omaha, Arkansas daughter of Creel Hopper who served as church clerk for much of this period.

Obtained from Eva Bruner in 1963 By Dolores Raines. Submited by Dolores Raines.

Please note that obvious spelling corrections were made when preparing this document for the web. Spelling of names was left unchanged except for the replacement of a few common abbreviations with their fully spelled-out equivalent (e.g. Wm. with William). In a few cases, entries that were out of place chronologically were relocated to be in the correct order. After the original page 1 there were several pages of "membership" records for which the intended order is not obvious, although some of them do have dates attached. Wherever possible, entries were identified with the full date applicable, even though they were sometimes only identified by something like "the Saturday before the 2nd Sunday" in the record themselves.

F. Brittain did preach true immersion in order of remission for sins #4 I Can Prove By. D. A. White, and his wife, E Jackson, Edney Watson, Emaline Jackson, Sister Watson and Sister Jackson presented their Evidence called for. they testified that they never heard such statements made by Brother Brittain. #5 I did say he was Excluded for preaching hearsay #6 I did say and still say that J. F. Brittain did not make Acknowledgement to the wrong of suing Sister Akers. #7 J. F. Brittain is a lyer which i will prove by reading a letter from Brother Clevenger which states that Vice wrote to him stating that J. F. Brittain told at Mincy that Brother Clevenger was accused of stealing a hog [on investigation it was proven that J. F.
